Lagarta Lodge (Nosara,7 rooms, breakfast included, fan, parking, pool). Lagarta Lodge is a paradise for naturalists, birdwatchers, photographers and adventurous travelers. It’s perched on a 40-meter/132-foot cliff (it’s a steep ride uphill to the top), with a sweeping vista of the Nosara Biological Reserve and its black beach Pacific shoreline.
The lodge’s common area, which boasts a magnificent dining table, is on a porch that offers a panoramic view and a powerful telescope to see it close up. Several trails are marked for hiking into the lodge’s private reserve area bordering the reserve and down to the weaving Río Nosara.
Its rooms are plainer than the common areas and beautiful gardens, but the upstairs rooms (#3 & #4) have a balcony and those downstairs boast a little terrace. The mountaintop gets a welcome cooling breeze. Rooms #5 & #6 are very large. Inviting freeform pool.
